CBC Ottawa morning interviews Yezen Al-Katta

Thank you CBC Ottawa for interviewing Jeff Sweeton and Yezen Al-Katta on the learning potential of Lego Mindstorms – a robot connected by a smartphone!

Yezen built the 400+ piece robot in one afternoon in early July. The next day, the 14-year old summer intern successfully connected the robot to his smartphone. (a “smart robot”)

On August 12th, 2015, Yezen facilitated a Lego Mindstorms workshop at the Britannia Woods Maker Space Camp. The robot could be seen quickly moving on its rubber tracks across the floors at Britannia Woods Community House and shooting ‘fire balls’ from its powerful gripper arm.

Lego is moving to the future of play by offering “smart” Lego sets equipped with circuits and software, leading to increased learning potential and creativity and skill development.
