Do you love to connect the digital and physical realms, spend time on research and development (R&D), and volunteer at local community venues?
In 2017, Networking for Youth (N4Y) will be collaborating with various community partners, including Catholic Centre for Immigrants, to deliver after- school STEAM-based activities in Ottawa East and Ottawa West.
High school and post-secondary volunteers are welcome to join our team!
You are willing to learn independently through manuals and self-learning. You love to work with younger children (ages 6-8, 9-11, 13- 14) and develop age-appropriate hands-on learning activities. DIY activity sites include: Instructables, Science Buddies, Physics Central, Scientific American, Code.org, CS Unplugged, Pinterest and dozens more!
You will host or co-host STEAM projects and challenges. If supplies are required for your activity, you will provide a list of required supplies in advance to the Coding Club coordinator.
The sky is the limit! Bring your creative ideas to life with materials ranging from household items to innovative tools and invite others to join your table! To view a partial list of STEAM board games and STEAM project ideas, see poster below.
Share your ideas and feedback! We look forward to hearing from you.
